If you are in the Stadium Saturday, you will experience a special treat. You may or may not have read by now that the former players are coming back on Saturday to do the Tunnel of Pride, in a show of support for the football program and for Coach Fickell. I have known that was going to happen for a couple of months now, but even though I had the scoop, it was not my place to print it and run with it. (Guess I wouldn't make a very good sportswriter.)
The ink wasn't even dry on the news release announcing Coach Fickell's selection last summer, when the wheels started turning about how the former players could help him and the program with a show of support. I am sure there are others I am not aware of, but I will credit John Hicks and Coach Myles as being in the forefront of organizing the tunnel, something that heretofore has been reserved for the Michigan Game. But special times call for special things.
With Coach Fickell's first game, the tunnel, and the first ever Quadruple Script Ohio, Saturday in the 'Shoe should be real special. Years from now, it will be one more thing about which we can remember We Were There.
