I'm lovin Luke Fickell more and more.

One of the things I loved about Coach Tressel was watching the media complain about his press conferences. Myself, I never failed to learn something from listening to the man, and unlike the media, always came away with good insight and some nuggets I could use in bettering my everyday life. Of course the media didn't agree. They dubbed him the Senator and complained he never said anything. I have come to believe that was code, which translated actually meant "He never gives us a bunch of sensational, controversial, one-liners, and as a result we have to work hard to write our own stories." Maybe they are just lazy.

In any case, I have been watching Luke and I like what I see. He cuts them no quarters either. While his no nonsense, what you see is what you get, way of getting right to the point without any fluff may be a 180 degree different style than Coach Tressel, it certainly seems to had the same effect. The gumshoes are already complaining. Over the weekend one was quoted as describing it this way: "Compared to the last decade, better to have a coach say a little of nothing than a lot of nothing."

Well, if that's what they think, more power to them. Glad they are happier.
