I have been lucky the last few years to have several sideline media passes, but I have never had the Michigan Game.
Until Now.
Saturday, yours truly will be on the sidelines for the Ohio State - Michigan game. I am looking forward to soaking it all in - the Tunnel of Pride, Senior Day, the hardest pop of the pads in any game of the season - and sharing that experience with all of you in the book.
I am especially happy that some members of the '42 National Championship Team are to be there. I met many of those guys on the field when the team was honored a few years ago, and having studied their history, those guys hold a special place in my heart! It will be great to have the chance to shake their hand and pat them on the back.
I will be heading to Columbus Friday afternoon, in order to be at the Horseshoe bright and early Saturday Morning.
Several people have asked where on the sidelines I will be. My standard reply is to deadpan, "When it comes to crunch time, and the game's on the line, look for the short fat guy whispering plays in Coach Tressel's ear!" Ha!
Actually, I'll be the guy in gray jeans and scarlet jacket. That should help you find me!
Go Bucks!
