Terrelle Pryor is getting a lot of ink for what he said about LeBron, with his comments circulating through the electronicsphere like protons in an atom.
2 Priorities by Ken Gordon in today's Dispatch Game Day issue is instead the story about Terrelle Pryor that people really ought to be reading.
Ken's story comes as no surprise to me. When Terrelle first came to Columbus, I interviewed for my stadium book, one of Terrelle's mentors from Jeanette Pa. He told me much of the same story line then, that Ken wrote about today. You haven't seen me commenting on it on here, because it was a personal and somewhat private issue and because I didn't think it was my place. And as Ken wrote today, it was a story "only a select handful of people know." Until now.
But Ken though is one of the great human interests writers, and has told with dignity a heartwarming story aching to be told.
Kens story goes to show, that those quick to judge someone - as many have been with Terrelle and some of the things he has said or done as an 18 or 19 year old - should first walk a mile in his shoes. That is something we can all learn from and the reason this story deserved to be told.
